Melanie Higgins brings a diverse background in environmental education, business development, and construction management. Melanie uses these skills to assist with a variety of tasks such as environmental document review and production, coordination of permit compliance activities, bid specifications and subcontractor management. She has coordinated Stakeholder and Technical Advisory Groups for local government projects, and prepared power point presentations for Boards of County Commissioners, regulatory agencies, and the public. As Public Involvement Specialist, her responsibilities include: presentation design; development of mailing lists, schedules, and agendas; coordination for public workshops and meetings; and design and production of all collateral materials such as newsletters, comment cards, and signage.
Ms. Higgins has an interest in environmental education, is a Florida Master Naturalist and serves on the Board of Directors of her local Audubon Society. She frequently gives presentations to non-profit groups and clubs with an interest in Florida wildlife and ecology. She runs and hikes with her dog, and is an avid gardener.
